Delaware Estuary Levee Organization (DELO)

Meeting Invitation

Light Blue Rule

TO: Levee owners and government officials concerned with Levees in Gloucester County

Mill Creek

WHEN: October 12, 2010 - 10:00 AM

WHERE: Gloucester County Planning Office (Directions below)

WHY:

The Delaware Estuary Levee Organization (DELO) in 2006 identified the need for an inventory to determine the nature and extent of levees in South Jersey. Funding for this Inventory became available from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in late 2008. The South Jersey Resource Conservation and Development Council invites you to view and discuss the just released "South Jersey Levee Inventory". This meeting will be held at the Gloucester County Planning Office at 10:00 AM on October 12, 2010.

This inventory characterizes the conditions of 70 levees located in Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, and Cape May Counties, which was performed by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service using a DEP grant. This meeting will explore the inventory's methodology, results, the use of LiDAR technologies, and recommendations.

Please come prepared to discuss the next steps forward.
