South Jersey RC&D Council, Inc.

Mission

The MISSION of the South Jersey Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc., is to develop and maintain resource technology information systems and initiate, support and implement conservation projects responsive to the needs of the people in the South Jersey RC&D region enabling them to conserve and manage the ecosystem in which they live.

The South Jersey RC&D program focuses on:

Promoting the conservation, development and wise use of the state’s natural resources

Increasing economic activity in the state

Promoting opportunities for human development

We do not duplicate any other program in New Jersey, but we do enhance and support numerous other organization’s missions and visions.

To achieve our mission, the RC&D Council prepares an Annual Plan of Work. This document is a flexible management tool the Council uses to guide our activities throughout the year. Benefits of an Annual Plan of Work include:

Allowing continuity of action from one year to the next

Keeping everyone working towards the same goal

Informing the sponsors about the South Jersey RC&D Council activities

The Annual Plan of Work becomes more important as time passes. Much of what we do requires several years for successful completion.

Annual Plan of Work Overview

The Annual Plan of Work is an annual action plan focusing and directing the activities of the South Jersey RC&D Council. Planning builds a framework leading to the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Some benefits of an action plan:

Defines the actions needed to meet established goals and objectives in a defined period within the organization’s capacity for implementation

Communicates those actions to the organization’s constituents

Ensures the most effective use is made of the organization’s resources by focusing the resources on important priorities

Provides a base from which progress can be measured and establishes a mechanism for informed change when needed
