The Hohokam Resource Conservation & Development Area, Inc. (RC&D) is organized to help communities and organizations implement projects for the improvement and enhancement of Gila, Maricopa, and Pinal Counties. This application procedure will help insure that each measure or proposal we adopt is completed.

Most projects begin with a perceived idea or identified need that will improve the natural resources and /or economic viability of the community. The RC&D Council ask that project sponsors obtain assistance from the RC&D Coordinator to begin planning early in the process. The RC&D Coordinator will help you complete an application and a preliminary project plan to describe your problem or opportunity and determine if it fits the RC&D Program purpose. You will also be asked to identify a solution or action that can be implemented. The plan application should indicate approval through signatures of the local sponsor(s).

The project application and the preliminary project plan is then presented to the RC&D Council as a project proposal. The Executive Committee will review the project proposal prior to the next Council meeting to determine program compliance and provide an evaluation of the proposal to the Council members. The review will include discussion of:

• project meeting objectives of the RC&D program
• project feasibility
• land rights involved
• authority to do work
• financial capability to maintain the project
• end-product resulting from the project during a full Council meeting held four times a year at which the Council makes a decision to adopt or deny the project.

This discussion may result in the Committee encouraging you to refine the project in a manner that will allow program participation. When the Council determines that all considerations for completion have been addressed, they will adopt the project.
