Ore-Cal Resource Conservation & Development

will provide encouragement, promotion, and development of economic diversity and community stability through the wise use of natural resources.

The Ore-Cal RC&D Council provides assistance to SPONSORS in completing projects that address natural resources management and conservation and human resource development.

How can an idea be proposed?

Any individual or group in the ORE-CAL RC&D Area that has an idea for a project, needs to have one of the RC&D Sponsors support the proposal. This is necessary because only current Sponsors of the ORE CAL RC&D can submit an application to the Council.

What is needed for a preliminary proposal?

Project Name - A descriptive title you would like to use.

Description of Present Condition - What is the problem? What is the need?

Description of Project to be Accomplished -What needs to be done to address the problem?

Sponsor Support - Who could sponsor or carry out the project?

Project Contact Person - Phone number and address

Assistance/Management - Needs addresses and by who

Budget - Estimated technical and/or financial assistance available and needed

Community Benefits Expected - How many jobs created, business or industry developed?

Expected Outcome - Will project improve, promote, inform, develop and/or protect ?

Application participation - Amount needed and source and administrative involvement.

How does a Sponsor submit an idea?

The Sponsor completes an ORE-CAL RC&D measure application form and submits it to the RC&D office in Dorris. The proposal will be evaluated to see if it addressed an objective and fits into the vision and mission of ORE-CAL RC&D. Project proposals are approved by either staff, executive committee, or full council, depending on level/cost of project involvement.

What happens to a proposal that is adopted?

It is very important to remember that ORE-CAL RC&D ASSISTS Sponsors. The Sponsor is required to provide a major commitment to the project. Once a proposal is adopted by ORE-CAL RC&D as a project, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Project Coordinator is authorized to investigate technical and/or financial resources necessary to complete it. In this process the Sponsor, or designated contact will need to assist the Coordinator in developing a complete proposal and play a major role in project completion.

You can receive a RC&D Measure Application sent to you by contacting the ORE-CAL RC&D office.
