April 30, 2011 Dear RISE Weather Station Site Owners And Data users: I am pleased to announce that the South Jersey RCD Council is currently in negotiations to transfer ownership of the RISE weather stations to the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station, Office of the New Jersey State Climatologist (ONJSC). It is anticipated that the RISE stations will be incorporated into the existing statewide network of weather stations operated by the ONJSC. This network of weather stations brings valuable information on weather and climate to the residents of New Jersey and is easily obtainable from the website operated by the ONJSC. This move is necessary to take the RISE weather stations to the next level. The New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station, ONJSC is better equipped and more suited for this task than the South Jersey RCD Council. Sincerely, Jack Sworaski |
