Team Habitat

The Mission of Team Habitat is to direct the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of habitat for all wildlife species that live in or migrate through New Jersey. Team Habitat will be extremely conscious of the historic nature of the New Jersey environment and work to restore its cultural resources through scientific and practical methods.

Team Habitat is a group of conservationists dedicated to the protection of all wildlife species by creating, enhancing and maintaining quality habitat throughout New Jersey. Team Habitat will use wildlife and natural resource professionals to direct a paid and volunteer work force in performing habitat projects.

Team Habitat will perform its duties in various ways.

Team Habitat will act as a clearing house for habitat projects by:

  • a. Reviewing projects undertaken by
  • US Fish and Wildlife Service under Partners for Fish and Wildlife program
  • USDA NRCS under WHIP, WRP, CRP, and other programs.
  • b. Suggesting potential sources of:
  • Labor
  • Seed
  • Funding
  • Team Habitat will actively recruit new members from organizations, both nonprofit and for profit, federal and state government, private organizations, and individuals.

Team Habitat will coordinate a public outreach program using existing regional and state-wide newsletters, presentations at various local and state level meetings, and by direct mail to various users of federal and state funding programs, as well as articles in local newspapers, radio spots, and TV reports.
